About Me

Yup, cherry picked a good photo of me :)
Hi, my name is Pearl Sanguine. Well, actually, it's not, but it is what I choose to be known as for the purposes of this blog. Anonymity makes it so much easier to be truly open and honest.

I am in my mid 30's and have a small daughter (known as madam) who is wonderful amusement and great frustration all at the same time. I live in a small town in Yorkshire and have lived here most of my life. I have also lived in France and Greece for short periods.

I am separated from my husband, for many reasons but the main ones are detailed here. I am trying to find out where the old me went and who the new me is going to be now. The whole finding myself thing, but don't let that put you off. I'm quite funny, it'll be fairly painless.

I am really in to all things craft related and love to cook and bake too. I've set myself a new challenge for this year (2014) to, hopefully, re-engage with my love of books. I have a reading list to work through and would love any recommendations you might want to share. You can look here for a list of some of my favourite books.

I am currently job-hunting and looking for a career in education. Specifically in the student support/pastoral side of school. I'd ideally love to be a school counsellor, but that job doesn't really exist within the British system...

I suffer from depression and this blog has been a way for me to order my thoughts more efficiently, it means that what I write jumps around from topic to topic, but it makes for a more interesting life if you don't know what's coming!

So, you know, that's a bit about me. Anything else you wanna know, just ask!

All information was correct when I wrote it on a Friday teatime - 14/3/2014

“To put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must cultivate our personal life; and to cultivate our personal life, we must first set our hearts right.” Confucius

Well, thank you, Mr Aardvark :) And that's a most apt quote...
